Book Mount Cook Heliski

  • Because Mount Cook Heliski is a weather-dependent activity, pre-payment is not required.

    We reserve the right to cancel if the weather is not safe/suitable for the aircraft or skiing. Guests may transfer to another day, if space, weather, and itineraries allow.

    Alpine Guides reserves the right to change the duration of the ski day around changing weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control.

    We guarantee a refund of any deposits paid (or no charge to you) if your cancellation is received 24 hours or more before your skiing day.

    Cancellations should be made by phone (+64 3 435 1834) or in person. If emailing ensure you give more than 24 hours’ notice. Less than 24 hours notice will incur a full charge.

  • Please reconfirm your booking. Preferably 24 hours or more prior to your heliski day.

    Why reconfirm? It allows us to pass on important information - like the weather forecast and snow conditions. If you cannot reconfirm and we are not able to reach you, we reserve the right to cancel your booking.

  • We encourage guests to have a backup day in case bad weather prevents us from operating on your day of choice. While we will do our best to roll over bookings, we cannot guarantee that this is possible to do, if we do not have space available.

  • Standard Heliski Bookings (not Private Charter)

    Minimum Numbers
    A minimum of 3 bookings is required to operate on a given day (4 people out of Queenstown/Wanaka). Individual bookings are welcome. Bookings are accepted on the basis that reservations will be coordinated to achieve minimum numbers.

    Booking Confirmation
    All reservations will be acknowledged and confirmed by our reservations staff

    Bookings are subject to logistics including minimum numbers, weather, snow conditions and guest ability

    Reconfirmation
    All clients need to reconfirm with us no later than 5 pm the day before heliskiing.

    We reserve the right to cancel reservations if customers fail to reconfirm bookings, we cannot contact you, and there is pressure for seats. This may incur a charge (see Cancellations below).

    Reconfirming allows us to pass on important details about meeting points, weather, equipment, and snow conditions.

    Booking Restrictions
    Guests must be 18 years or older to make a heliski booking. Persons under 18 years old require a parent or guardian to accompany them. The parent/guardian must complete the registration form prior to heliskiing.

    Children
    There is no child rate. Persons less than 18 years old must have their registration forms completed by an accompanying adult.

    The minimum age is 10 years. We reserve the right to refuse to carry children if experience and conditions are, in our opinion, not appropriate. Supervising adults must be prepared to ski at the pace of the children.

    The physical demands of heliskiing are beyond younger children. We can ski family groups if requested but recommend Ski The Tasman as an alternative.

    Weather Dependent
    Heliskiing is a weather-dependent activity. We reserve the right to cancel if the weather is not safe/suitable for the helicopter or skiing/snowboarding. Guests may transfer to another day, if space, weather, and itineraries allow.

    Cancellations
    We guarantee a refund of any payment (or no charge) if your cancellation is received more than 24 hours prior to your booking. No-shows or failure to cancel the day before will result in full payment. There is a strict 100% charge for customers who do not show and the weather is operable.

    Refunds
    In the unlikely event we must shorten the heliski day due to weather or snow conditions guests are entitled to a refund of $125 per heliski run not used. Refunds are not due to guests who elect to shorten the day due to fitness, lack of ability, or injury.

    If payment was made by credit card the refund will be credited to the same card. Charges or refunds will appear in the name of ‘Alpine Guides Aoraki’ on the credit cardholder's statement.

    COVID-19 - Book With Confidence
    There is a zero cancellation fee policy and a full refund of any funds if cancellations are imposed due to Covid-19 restrictions.
